Back in January, I joined a mastermind group and was offered the opportunity to share a house with some of the group at QuiltCon in Raleigh, NC. I jumped at the chance! I had always wanted to attend, but not alone. Even though I had not yet met any of the group in person, I knew I’d be in good company…and I wasn’t wrong! So I signed up to go and made plans to drive to Raleigh (I love a not-too-long road trip!).
As everyone arrived, we met, hugged, talked, laughed, snacked and made plans for the next morning. Thursday we headed to the Convention Center and checked-in. I wore the Ruby Star Selvedge Magic letters infinity scarf I had made for the occasion; I received so many compliments from not only friends, but strangers! I’m definitely into the “make something to wear to QuiltCon” camp! LOL

I immediately purchased a commemorative tote bag and we were off to explore. The floor was filled with aisles and aisles of vendors on one end, and the quilt show on the other. I also attended two lectures — “Rewiring Tradition: How AI is Transforming Creative Endeavors” and “Transforming Traditional Quilt Techniques”. Both were excellent!
I shopped til I dropped, almost literally. I tried to rein in my spending and thankfully kept it to a reasonable cost. The Teddy and Liberty fabrics were definitely calling my name!

I found online friends so I could meet them in person. So.Much.Fun.

And I viewed beautiful quilts, oh so many beautiful quilts. The inspiration is endless. Here are a few of my favorites.

Each evening a group of us would go to dinner together. True camaraderie. I could not have been happier.

I want to thank my mastermind group for the invitation and for sharing their time with this QuiltCon newbie! And if you ever have the opportunity to attend QuiltCon, I would definitely recommend it!
