Hello there! I'm Jody Sterling, a seasoned quilter with over 25 years of experience in this wonderful craft. I embarked on my quilting journey when my three daughters were young, and now that I'm a proud grandmother of four grand-girls, quilting has become an even more fulfilling part of my life. With retirement granting me the gift of time, I've finally been able to pursue my lifelong dream of designing my own quilts. It's a joyous endeavor, and I'm excited to share my creations with all of you!
A Quilter's Inspiration:
Throughout my working life, I immersed myself in office management roles within various sectors, primarily in the fields of law and education. Interestingly, I discovered that the art of quilting and office management share many similarities. Both require careful organization and assembling of numerous individual pieces to create a harmonious whole. It's this connection that has fueled my passion for quilting and enabled me to find solace and creativity in this beautiful art form.
My Design Aesthetic:
When it comes to quilting, I am particularly drawn to geometric patterns that captivate the eye and inspire a sense of wonder. There's something magical about the interplay between shapes, lines, and colors that can transform a piece of fabric into a work of art. Speaking of colors, aqua and coral hold a special place in my heart. Their vibrant and invigorating tones add a touch of liveliness and energy to my quilts.
Designs for All, Especially Beginners:
While I delight in creating patterns that challenge and engage experienced quilters, my true passion lies in designing for beginners. I firmly believe that anyone, regardless of skill level, should be able to embrace the joy of quilting. Through my patterns, I aim to provide clear instructions, step-by-step guidance, and encouragement to anyone who is just starting their quilting journey. Together, we can transform pieces of fabric into cherished quilts.

During my years in office management, I honed my skills in proofreading and editing, diligently reviewing legal briefs, billing statements, newsletters, and more. Surprisingly, I discovered a genuine enjoyment for this meticulous work. As a result, I am thrilled to offer my services as a quilt pattern tech editor to fellow quilt pattern designers.
